Taira, Shigeo
Summary
Shigeo is the father of Taira Capeta and an employee of a paving company who spends most of his time away from home. Struggling with severe poverty, he often works late into the night to increase his income. Initially, he perceives Taira as an obedient and quiet child because he causes no trouble, but Shigeo eventually realizes that his son’s reserved nature is actually a facade after witnessing him drive the go-kart he built.
