Continues the story of Flash Kicker
Captain Tsubasa follows a young elementary school boy whose entire existence revolves around his deep passion for soccer. At only eleven years old, Tsubasa Oozora has practiced the sport since early childhood, turning what for others is just a pastime into an all-consuming obsession. To chase his childhood ambitions, Tsubasa relocates with his mother to the famous city of Nankatsu, celebrated for its outstanding elementary school soccer squads. Although he has achieved success before, Nankatsu presents tough obstacles, forcing Tsubasa to rely on all his abilities and raw talent to distinguish himself among his new opponents. On his path, Tsubasa meets both rivals and allies, including the affectionate Sanae Nakazawa and the exceptionally skilled goalkeeper Genzo Wakabayashi. Both share Tsubasa's unwavering devotion to the game, becoming crucial companions as they work toward their shared objective. Tsubasa's ultimate ambition is to represent Japan in the FIFA World Cup, but reaching that goal demands far more than simply natural ability.
In this installment
In "Shin Captain Tsubasa," the story unfolds at the International Jr. Youth tournament (U-16) held in Paris, France. After defeating the Jr. Youth teams from Argentina, Italy, and France, the Japanese Jr. Youth team advances to the finals, where they confront the formidable West Germany Jr. Youth team. The Japanese squad faces a severe challenge from West Germany's powerful goalkeeper Müller, star player Kaltz, and Europe's top footballer Schneider, creating an exceptionally difficult championship match.
