Continuing directly from the events of the first season, the second season centers on the Inter High bicycle race. High school competitors push themselves to their absolute limits, gambling everything on their bicycles.

After the Inter-high concludes and summer draws to a close, Sakamichi Onoda immerses himself in rigorous training alongside Imaizumi Shunsuke and Naruko Shoukichi, determined to uphold the team spirit fostered by Sohoku's graduating third-years—Kinjou Shingo, Makishima Yusuke, and Tadokoro Jin. Shortly thereafter, Team Sohoku is invited to the Kumamoto Fire Country Mountain Race, a prestigious event for top Inter-high teams. Captain Kinjou selects the core members who competed in the Inter-high to represent the team.
