Synopsis
Keita Aono is an ordinary high school student, passing his days chatting with friends about military gear and the girls in his class. His life takes an unexpected turn when his childhood friend Hinoki Sai transfers to his school. Eager to reconnect, Keita follows Hinoki after class but accidentally plunges into Bottom World, a derelict underground amusement park that was shut down due to a mysterious incident. Inside, Keita discovers Hinoki piloting an unusual robot on behalf of Akamatsu Industries, a company contracted by the covert organization Mode Warp to investigate a rash of violent incidents worldwide. Joining Hinoki inside the robot, Keita helps defend against the park’s now-aggressive attractions. They can only escape after a man capable of transforming—known as a "Betterman"—joins them. Faced with an incomprehensible enemy and advanced technology, Keita decides to partner with Akamatsu Industries to combat a mysterious entity called "Algernon."
