Personal Information

Steve Olson has built a robust career in radio dating back to 1975, where he developed a talent for using his voice with flair to create distinct tones. By 1993, he served as the program director at an Edmonton radio station and was heavily involved in commercial voice work. His transition into the world of animation occurred in the late 1990s through a connection with a former graduate of the Radio, Television, and Broadcast News (RTBN) program. When one of his students became a talent coordinator for Chinook Animations, Olson auditioned through the studio and secured a role in re-voicing the Dragon Ball series for the 'Blue Water Dub.' This project utilized his voice for broadcasts on television stations like YTV, though the episodes were not intended for distribution. Within the Dragon Ball universe, Olson is best known for voicing the series narrator, General Rilldo, and Old Supreme Kai, as well as providing additional voices in the related series Dragon Ball GT. His extensive background in theatre, including a bachelor's degree in drama and a master's degree in theatre, has been instrumental to his success in voice acting. While radio provided his livelihood, drama remained his true passion.
