Synopsis

Continues the story of Maetel Legend

The synthetic sun illuminating the frozen world of La Metalle is fading, threatening to snuff out the scarce life that remains there. Queen La Andromeda Prometheum concludes that her people's only chance for survival is to surrender to Hardgear's transformation process, which will convert every individual's body into machinery. The Queen's daughters, Emeraldas and Maetel, reject this course of action and struggle to remain human.

In this installment

Maetel left behind her mother and her home world, the frozen and doomed La Metal, where survival demands becoming a cyborg. When she is called back, her choices seem limited: follow her mother's example—and with it a robotic mind and the hatred of all humans—or flee and join the human struggle against the machines. Yet she is not without allies and protectors. If she can embrace the friendship of metallic beings who long for peace, and stand against those who believe that being made of flesh and blood is enough to define humanity, she may still find a way to forge her own destiny.
