Summary
Jigorou Kuwajima served as the mentor to Agatsuma Zenitsu and Kaigaku and was formerly a Pillar within the Demon Killing Corps. He primarily appears in the manga through flashback sequences. Described as a physically short elderly man with silver or grey hair, he bears a visible scar beneath his left eye and typically carries a wooden cane to support his aging body. His attire usually consists of a jinbei-style kimono reminiscent of the one worn by Sakonji Urokodai. Jigorou was defined by his steadfast devotion to his students and his rigorous training methods. Although he possessed immense strength and experience as a former Pillar, he maintained a soft spot for the next generation. Zenitsu recalled that despite his own tendencies to whine and flee, Jigorou never abandoned him. He rescued Zenitsu from a life of debt and accepted him as a disciple, displaying unyielding patience and genuine happiness when Zenitsu finally mastered the first form. Jigorou firmly believed in perfecting skills through repetition, comparing the process to the forging and purification of sword steel.
