Senren＊Banka Gets First Yuzu Soft Anime for 2027 With Original Cast, KOTOKO OP

Yuzu Soft finally crossed the animation threshold this weekend. At Yuzu Soft Songfes 2026, the long-running bishōjo brand confirmed that its 2016 flagship romance visual novel Senren＊Banka is headed for anime in 2027—the studio’s first screen adaptation after nearly two decades of PC and console hits.

The heroines are coming back as fans remember them. Sora Haruka (Eri Sendai) returns as shrine maiden Yoshino Tomotake, Yūki Kotorii (Natsumi Takamori) as Mako Hitachi, Mikan Satō (Nozomi Yamamoto) as the enigmatic Murasame, and Sawa Sawasawa (Atsumi Tanezaki) as Lena Liechtenauer. Singer-songwriter KOTOKO, who powered the game’s opening, is lined up again for the anime OP—a continuity move that treats the adaptation as a reunion rather than a reboot.

The source story is pure rural fantasy: deep in the mountains, tourist hot-spring town Hoori keeps the divine blade Murasamemaru sealed in stone—until visitor Masaomi Arichi accidentally snaps it and gets drafted into marriage, village curses, and a romance none of the locals saw coming. Released for Yuzu Soft’s 10th anniversary in 2016, the title later expanded to Steam and Switch and crossed one million copies sold worldwide by early 2026.

Staff, episode length, and broadcast format remain under wraps, but the Songfes reveal already gives VN fans a firm 2027 calendar target and a cast list built for nostalgia. More production details are expected as the year unfolds.
