Hiyori Kōno Locks Tan Otori for Student Council Holes October Anime

The autumn slate just got louder. Production for the television anime of Muchimaro’s hit four-panel comedy Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! has tapped Hiyori Kōno—best known as Cure Sparkle in Healing Good Precure—to voice Tan Otori, the brash junior-high publicity dynamo on Fujinari Academy’s very un-ordinary student council.

Alongside a new character promotional video and poster, the cast drop rounds out a core already featuring Shōgo Sakata as academic wreck Ume Mizunoe, Haruka Shiraishi as polished president Hisako Kotobuki, and Miyu Tomita as pint-sized secretary Komaro Michinoku. Kōno gushed that she zeroed in on Tan from her first read of the manga and struggled to keep a straight face in the booth—exactly the energy this series thrives on.

Directing duties stay with Naoyuki Tatsuwa (Nisekoi, Gourmet Girl Graffiti) at Passione, with Ryo Imamura on character designs and Masahiro Yokotani (Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!) handling series composition. The show—adapted from the Next Manga Award–winning Weekly Shōnen Magazine strip that has already topped 1.6 million copies in print—still targets an October 2026 debut. Expect more council chaos before the first bell.
