This is the first season of the Monogatari Series, part two of six. It covers the Koyomi Vamp arc from the Kizumonogatari light novel. On March 25th, an ordinary day during spring break, second-year Naoetsu High School student Koyomi Araragi strikes up a friendship with Tsubasa Hanekawa, the top honors student at his school. Hanekawa tells him about a rumor circulating in town concerning a "blonde vampire." Araragi, who usually keeps to himself, finds himself drawn to her down-to-earth personality. That night, Araragi comes face to face with the rumored vampire: Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade, known as the "iron-blooded, hot-blooded, cold-blooded King of Apparitions." The breathtakingly beautiful vampire lies in a pool of her own blood, all four of her limbs severed, and cries out for Koyomi to save her. She asks Araragi to give her his blood, and when he does, he awakens the next moment reborn as her vampire kin. As Araragi struggles to come to terms with his new existence, Kiss-Shot whispers, "Welcome to the world of darkness..."
