Twenty-two-year-old Tatsuhiro Satou dropped out of college and has lived as a hikikomori for nearly four years. During his seclusion, he has developed a host of bizarre conspiracy theories, none stronger than his conviction that a secretive, malevolent organization called the Nihon Hikikomori Kyokai (NHK) is responsible for his NEK (Not in Employment, Education, or Training) condition and works to spread hikikomori culture. NHK ni Youkoso! is a psychological dramedy following Tatsuhiro's attempts to break free from the NHK's wicked schemes and the self-inflicted disease of isolation, all while struggling simply to leave his apartment and secure a job. His unexpected meeting with the enigmatic Misaki Nakahara may signal a turning point, but it comes at the price of confronting his greatest fear—society itself.
