In Edo, a city where samurai once thrived with courage and ambition, the arrival of the powerful alien race known as the Amanto shattered those dreams. The former shogunate now operates under foreign rule, and a new law prohibits carrying swords in public. Gintoki Sakata, a peculiar man with silver hair and a habit of carrying a wooden sword, continues to live as a samurai despite the ban. As the leader of Yorozuya, a small business that takes on odd jobs, he often sets out on missions to help others, though his methods are unusual and frequently chaotic. Alongside Shinpachi Shimura, a bespectacled youth training to be a samurai, Kagura, a strong and gluttonous tomboy, and Sadaharu, their enormous pet dog who likes to bite heads, the Yorozuya navigate the many challenges posed by the diverse residents of Edo, from alien nobility to local gang conflicts.

Most people dismiss the existence of aliens, time travelers, and espers, and high school student Kyon is no different. However, his mundane outlook is shattered from the first day of school by Haruhi Suzumiya, a girl intent on reshaping his perception of reality. During class introductions, Haruhi explicitly states her disdain for ordinary life and her burning desire to encounter supernatural entities. Unable to find an existing club focused on the paranormal, she impulsively establishes the "Spreading FUN throughout the School with Haruhi Suzumiya Club," widely known as the SOS Brigade. Haruhi then enlists Kyon alongside three others: the quiet, bookish Yuki Nagato; the shy upperclassman Mikuru Asahina; and the perpetually cheerful Itsuki Koizumi. One night, a drunken Gintoki stumbles home just as an alien spacecraft crashes nearby. A mortally wounded crew member crawls out and hands him a strange, clock-shaped device, warning that it holds immense power and must be protected. Mistaking it for his alarm clock, Gintoki smashes it the next morning—only to find the world outside his apartment frozen in time. With Kagura and Shinpachi by his side, he sets out to get the device repaired. Of course, nothing ever goes smoothly for the Yorozuya team. Packed with irreverent humor and heartfelt moments, Gintama's fourth season sees Gintoki and his friends face their wildest misadventures and most dangerous threats yet.

Most unbelievable of all, his sister Otae has married the Shinsengumi commander and shameless stalker Isao Kondou and is expecting their first child. Bewildered, Shinpachi agrees to join the Shinsengumi at Otae and Kondou's request and finds even more startling transformations happening both within and outside the organization's ranks. However, upon discovering that Vice Commander Toushirou Hijikata has remained unchanged, Shinpachi and his unlikely Shinsengumi ally set out to restore the city of Edo to the way they remember it. Packed with even more dirty jokes, tongue-in-cheek parodies, and shameless references, Gintama' follows the Yorozuya team through further misadventures in the lively, alien-filled world of Edo.

In a society where personal computers called Persocoms closely resemble humans, the true nature of love is put to the test. Hideki Motosuwa, a young man from the countryside trying to pass his college entrance exams, struggles to make ends meet, making it impossible for him to afford the latest technology: Persocoms, which are humanoid computers. One night, on his way home, he stumbles upon an abandoned Persocom and decides to bring her to his apartment. When he activates her, she responds with only a single word, "Chii," which becomes her name. Unlike other Persocoms, Chii cannot download information, forcing Hideki to manually teach her about life as he studies for his exams. Okabe and the other lab members receive an invitation from Feyris to travel to America, while Mayuri and the rest make plans to reunite with Kurisu, who has returned to her laboratory in the United States. In "Nyaruko: Crawling With Love!", Mahiro Yasaka is an ordinary high school student whose routine is shattered when a monstrous Nightgaunt alien attacks him. He is rescued by Nyaruko, a silver-haired girl who is actually the shape-shifting deity Nyarlathotep from the Cthulhu Mythos created by H. P. Lovecraft. The Space Defense Agency sent Nyaruko to Earth to prevent Mahiro from being kidnapped and enslaved by the alien. After saving him, Nyaruko develops an intense infatuation with Mahiro and moves into his house, much to his frustration. Soon after, two more characters from the same mythos arrive: Cthuko, a girl deeply in love with Nyaruko, and Hasuta, a boy often mistaken for a girl. These three strange beings constantly protect Mahiro from various otherworldly threats targeting both Earth and him, while also wreaking havoc on his daily life and turning it into a continuous ordeal.

While Gintoki Sakata is away, the Yorozuya gang gains a new leader in Kintoki, a golden-haired doppelganger of Gintoki. To get his old position back, Gintoki needs help from the people around him, but that proves difficult when no one can recall his existence. The rivalry between Kintoki and Gintoki raises the question of who will ultimately take the spotlight as the main character. Meanwhile, the Yorozuya returns to the red-light district of Yoshiwara to assist an elderly courtesan searching for her long-lost lover. Although the district is no longer chained beneath the earth, the trio soon uncovers the tragic histories of Yoshiwara's residents that still linger. Through numerous flashbacks, the Yorozuya witnesses enduring love and strives to protect it with all their hearts and souls. Gintama': Enchousen delivers moments of intense action alongside the usual lighthearted, slapstick humor that Gintoki and his companions are known for.

They are approached by Nobume Imai and two Kiheitai members, who reveal that the Harusame pirates have betrayed 7th Division Commander Kamui and their comrade Takasugi. The Kiheitai enlist Gintoki to locate Takasugi, who disappeared following a Harusame ambush. Nobume also discloses a startling revelation concerning the Tendoushuu, a secretive group influencing multiple factions, and their enigmatic leader, Utsuro, who bears a striking resemblance to Gintoki’s former mentor. Aboard Sakamoto’s spacecraft, the Yorozuya and Katsura travel to Rakuyou, Kagura’s home world, where numerous groups have gathered amid rising tensions. Old rivalries, political strife, and the Tendoushuu’s hidden scheme all converge in a decisive, large-scale conflict on Rakuyou.

Makoto Niwa meticulously records his daily experiences, grading his life as if it were a subject. When his parents relocate abroad, he moves to a new town to live with his aunt, hoping for a fresh start. However, his vision of a typical teenage life is shattered by the discovery of a previously unknown cousin, Erio Touwa. Upon meeting Erio, who is the same age but vastly different from him, Makoto finds her spending her days in a futon instead of attending school and declaring herself an alien. Her peculiar behavior and speech patterns quickly destroy Makoto’s dreams of a normal adolescence. Sakurai Tomoki has grown accustomed to his daily life alongside the two angeloids, Ikaros and Nymph, and is having a great time. Still, he keeps experiencing strange dreams and asks all his friends to help him figure out what is causing them. Nymph creates a device that allows humans—but not angeloids—to enter other people's dreams. The gadget initially malfunctions, but eventually they manage to reach what should have been Tomoki's dream, only to find that something is seriously off about it.
