Continues the story of Gintama: Enchousen
While Gintoki Sakata is away, the Yorozuya gang gains a new leader in Kintoki, a golden-haired doppelganger of Gintoki. To get his old position back, Gintoki needs help from the people around him, but that proves difficult when no one can recall his existence. The rivalry between Kintoki and Gintoki raises the question of who will ultimately take the spotlight as the main character. Meanwhile, the Yorozuya returns to the red-light district of Yoshiwara to assist an elderly courtesan searching for her long-lost lover. Although the district is no longer chained beneath the earth, the trio soon uncovers the tragic histories of Yoshiwara's residents that still linger. Through numerous flashbacks, the Yorozuya witnesses enduring love and strives to protect it with all their hearts and souls. Gintama': Enchousen delivers moments of intense action alongside the usual lighthearted, slapstick humor that Gintoki and his companions are known for.

Gintoki, Shinpachi, and Kagura are back as the cheerful yet perpetually broke Yorozuya team. In an alternate Edo where swords are banned and alien invaders rule Japan, they scrape by taking any odd jobs they can find. But Shinpachi and Kagura are still waiting for their wages—could Gin-chan really be blowing all the money on pachinko? One night, a drunken Gintoki stumbles home just as an alien spaceship crashes nearby. A mortally wounded crew member emerges and hands him a peculiar clock-like object, cautioning that it holds immense power and must be protected. Mistaking it for his alarm clock, Gintoki smashes it the next morning—only to find the entire world outside his apartment frozen in time. With Kagura and Shinpachi, he sets out to repair the device, but as always, nothing comes easy for the Yorozuya. Packed with irreverent comedy and heartfelt moments, the fourth season of Gintama sees Gintoki and his friends confronting their funniest escapades and their most perilous challenges yet.
