Synopsis
In ancient Japan, a princess flees with her lover from those chasing them. When capture became certain, they promised to take their own lives rather than let the princess return to her previous existence. Both drew their blades to end their lives, but something misfired. Now one of them searches for vengeance after being left behind. Hana no Kage was initially created as a 17-minute and 6-second version and later issued as a 15-minute version online. The 17-minute and 6-second version received the fine art award at the 18th DoGA CG animation contest and was subsequently shown in theaters; the uncut edition is also featured on the DVD collection of selected works from the 18th DoGA CG animation contest. The 15-minute version earned the excellent award at the 2nd Kichijoji animation film festival.
