The narrative opens with Sinbad, the legendary sailor from the Arabian Nights, who yearns to journey to a mysterious realm. Alongside his monkey companion Mimi, he meets Sana, a girl soaring on a flying wooden horse. "The wind shifted…."

While sailing aboard the ship Bahal, Sinbad and his crew encounter a fierce storm. When land is sighted, Ali steers them toward an island so they can make repairs. Sinbad and Sana then take a smaller boat to go ashore. After Sana experiences a vision of a magical lamp, Sinbad and the others set out to locate it.
