In 2014, Akira Natsume wakes up from a 16-year coma inside a machine called an EX-ARM, a powerful weapon of mass destruction. He is brought onto an enemy smuggling ship by police officer Minami Uezono and her android partner Alma, and Akira slowly gets used to this new world. The three of them must rely on their intelligence and combat skills to escape their situation.
Though Akira initially hesitates to fight, he finds motivation in memories of his brother, which drive him to take control of Alma's body and use martial arts to defend against attackers. By connecting to the ship's systems through a port, Akira learns the full capabilities of the EX-ARM, quickly gaining control over the vessel.
After reaching safety, Akira meets the rest of the EX-ARM Countermeasure Prevention Team, a specialized police unit focused on dealing with the threats posed by EX-ARMs. Seeing the destruction caused by those who want to exploit these powerful devices, Akira decides to join the team and work to stop further atrocities.
