Synopsis
After being struck by a truck in 2014, Akira Natsume wakes up to find himself inside a machine after a 16-year coma. As he gets used to the new system, police officer Minami Uezono and her android partner Alma greet him. They explain that his brain is stored in a device called an EX-ARM—a weapon of mass destruction. Trapped on an enemy smuggler ship, the three must escape using only their wits and combat skills. Though initially hesitant to fight, Akira recalls his brother's words from before the accident. This memory drives him to act, taking over Alma's body to fight opponents with martial arts. When Alma plugs him into one of the ship's ports, he uncovers the EX-ARM's immense power by easily hacking and taking control of the vessel. After safely returning to land, Akira meets the other members of the EX-ARM Countermeasure Prevention Team, a police unit focused on reducing the impact of EX-ARMs. Seeing the horrors committed by those who seek EX-ARM power, he decides to join the team and stop the terror these weapons cause.
