Nijiiro Days centers on the romantic lives of four high school boys: Natsuki Hashiba, a dreamer with delusions of love; Tomoya Matsunaga, a narcissistic playboy juggling several girlfriends at once; Keiichi Katakura, a sadist with a kinky streak who never goes anywhere without his whip; and Tsuyoshi Naoe, an otaku whose girlfriend is into cosplay. When Natsuki's girlfriend dumps him without warning on Christmas Eve, he breaks down sobbing right in the middle of the street. A girl wearing a Santa Claus suit hands him some tissues, and he instantly falls head over heels for her. As luck would have it, this girl—Anna Kobayakawa—goes to the same school as him. Natsuki's pursuit of Anna should have been smooth and uneventful; however, to his dismay, his nosy friends keep meddling in his relationship while trying to make their own romantic ambitions come true.
