On February 29, 2000, a swarm of Möbius meteorites struck Earth, introducing a substance called Möbius Dust. This dust dissolves in the air and has the power to bring about miracles. The date of the meteorite fall became known as 2.29, and after that event, economic inequality in Japan skyrocketed. Discontent with the widening wealth gap, certain individuals resorted to terrorist acts in retaliation. In response, the police established a specialized unit to combat the terrorists, along with a training school for its members.

This special episode, which aired before episode 20, offers a recap focusing mainly on episodes 3 through 19. It features the series' updated opening and ending themes, as well as a preview of upcoming episodes.

In "Tenchi the Movie 2: Daughter of Darkness," Tenchi Masaki is startled when a young woman approaches him, calls him "Daddy," and claims to be his daughter. Believing she has mistaken him for someone else, he brings her home, unaware that this decision will trigger further upheaval. The girl, Mayuka Masaki, insists she is truly Tenchi's daughter, creating additional turmoil among the household. The other residents are skeptical of Mayuka's assertion, suspecting she may be manipulating Tenchi. Yet, DNA tests confirm Tenchi as her father, leading Washuu to conclude that Mayuka originates from the future, born as a result of a recent temporal disturbance. Despite this confirmation, not everyone is welcoming; Ryouko Hakubi senses a dark presence lurking beneath Mayuka's friendly demeanor.

Kurumi Mirai has held onto her dream of becoming a magician since early childhood. She spent her younger years preparing for entry into the prestigious Rettoran Academy of Magic. Even though she performs well on the entrance examination, her hopes are crushed when she is not accepted into the elite magic program. Kurumi ends up placed in the academy’s regular class, where she soon becomes friends with her roommate, Maki Kumiiru, as well as Yuzu Edel, who shares a similar sense of disappointment. However, their homeroom teacher, Minami Suzuki, surprises them by announcing that she intends to teach them magic regardless. As their initial skepticism turns into hope, the girls begin to see this as a possible new opportunity to pursue their ambitions and gain mastery over magical skills.

In "Tenchi Forever!", Tenchi flees into the forest after a fierce argument with his friends. While reflecting, he hears a voice coming from a camellia tree and finds a portal, which he enters. Six months go by with no trace of Tenchi, yet his friends remain determined to find him. They split into two groups: Aeka and Ryouko stay on Earth to search for clues, while Washuu, Sasami, Kiyone, and Mihoshi travel across the galaxy on their hunt. Their persistence eventually leads them to detect Tenchi's energy signature. But before they can celebrate, they face a difficult obstacle: Tenchi has lost all memory of them and now lives happily with another woman. The discovery of Tenchi only deepens the mystery of his disappearance and what they must do next.

Sakura Nankyoku is a complete otaku. Through a stroke of luck, she ends up as her class's Student Council President. From there, everything spirals into a wild series of misadventures centered on Sakura, her family, and her classmates.

After a six-year conflict on the moon ended in 1973, alien invaders called the BETA descended on Earth, laying waste to Eurasia and killing billions. Conventional arms failed against the BETA's advanced laser weapons, leading to the creation of giant combat mechs known as Tactical Surface Fighters (TSFs). When the BETA reached Japan in 1998, Yui Takamura, a TSF pilot training at a military academy, was ordered to hold Kyoto's final defensive line with her classmates. They successfully beat back the attack, but the Japanese Imperial Army suffered crippling losses, including Yui's closest friends, deepening her resolve to prevent future devastation. Three years later, now a lieutenant, Yui joins the XFJ project—a joint Japan-U.S. initiative based in Alaska aimed at developing the new Shiranui TSF. Working alongside an international team that includes the prickly test pilot Yuuya Bridges and pilots from other BETA-stricken nations, Yui navigates Cold War-era political tensions while Yuuya wrestles with his own history, weaving a story of Yui's crucial mission and Yuuya's personal battle.

In the Labyrinth, a vast underground realm, human colonies have long forgotten the surface world, which may now be nothing more than legend. To survive this harsh environment, colonists take on specific roles: Workers mine essential minerals, while Markers explore the unexpectedly lush Labyrinth to gather data for navigation. Humanity constantly fights kaijuu, monsters ranging from tiny to colossal, all of which are deadly. Some kaijuu can even breach colony walls, increasing the danger. Memenpu, a nine-year-old college graduate, has created innovations that greatly help the Workers in her colony. She dreams of a place without boundaries, a sky stretching endlessly above. Inspired by these visions, Memenpu wants to become a Marker and uncover the Labyrinth's mysteries. Her father, Gagumber, opposes this ambition, but a sudden encounter with a kaijuu triggers an eventful, dangerous journey that could change humanity's future.
