Following the death of her grandmother, she set out to learn more about her grandmother's life through conversations with relatives and acquaintances. She also read numerous books on mortality, which deepened her understanding of death and shifted her perspective. She expressed her deep love for her grandmother and gave a heartfelt eulogy.

In a period when direct human contact is increasingly uncommon, the online social platform Virtuapia serves as the main way people interact. Akane, a university senior, intends to reach out once more to her childhood best friend, Micchan, who has not been active on Virtuapia for a long while.

In this graduation project by Man Wei from Musashino Art University, the blending of different artistic styles serves not only as a storytelling technique but also becomes a natural and integral part of the narrative itself. The unique qualities of animation are employed to create an indirect metaphor for personal development, illustrated through shifts in painting technique. As the visual style evolves, it tells the story of a childhood dream to become a painter, gathering details from that dream about people, places, and events tied to those memories. Through this process, a childhood is depicted in its own distinctive style, weaving together the past and the gradual transformation in artistic approach as the person grows up.

By altering the alignment of segments along the time axis or space axis, the laminate created from hand-cut die shapes shifts into a variety of forms.
