The three young fox spirits in Kogitsune no Okurimono attempt to gather the offerings that an elderly woman regularly leaves out for them, but they inadvertently break her cherished family portrait.

This humorous crime comedy, reminiscent of Cat's Eye, follows Audrey, an attractive blonde photographer who chases the mysterious thief Slippy Dandy relentlessly. She has no idea that behind the mask is Steve, a college student who secretly has a crush on her. Made up of short segments originally aired on the variety show Midnight Treasure Chamber, the series features a deliberately American-inspired look with bright, flashy colors and exaggerated sound effects, calling to mind the 1960s Batman TV series.

While having lunch beside the swamp on the grounds of Udo University, Professor Poppen's watch abruptly stops ticking. A bizarre and perilous journey unfolds as the professor morphs into different creatures that inhabit the swamp. Will he ever find his way back? Inspired by Yoshihiko Funazaki's children's book series Poppen-sensei, which chronicles a biology assistant professor at Udo University who becomes entangled in his own imaginings of the natural world.

The grandmother in "Ijiwaru Baasan" (1996) is depicted as a cunning and unpleasant character who repeatedly meddles in the lives of her son-in-law, daughter, grandchildren, and neighbors.

One winter evening, a goblin father returned home and gave his son a red handball that he had found outside the residence of a girl named Yuki. Upset by this discovery, the boy decided to give it back. The next day, he went out into the snowy landscape, eventually arriving at a village where joyful children were singing. Reaching a modest house, he saw a lone girl sitting on the porch. She introduced herself, saying, "I'm Yuki. What's your name?" Without answering, he handed her the ball. Delighted, she exclaimed, "This is exactly what I lost! My sick mother made it for me. Thank you!" Feeling comfortable, the boy ended up becoming friends with her.

Kobo Tabata is part of an ordinary Japanese household. His dad works as a typical salaryman, while his mom is a stay-at-home housewife. On his mother's side, his grandparents assist with looking after the family and their pets. His uncle, a high school teacher, is somewhat overweight. Despite their normalcy, they often encounter strange circumstances that stem either from Kobo's development or from their own routines and miscommunications.

A young woman from an orphanage is granted a scholarship to a prestigious academy, sponsored by a secret patron she lovingly calls Daddy Long Legs. This television special is separate from the 1990s animated series.

In a charming, old-fashioned village, "The Littl' Bits" is a warm, child-friendly tale about a group of tiny forest fairies. Kind Belfy, daring Lillibit, playful Napoleon, and little Chuchuna go on various adventures with their friends while assisting others. Guided by wise Ronji, the skilled but occasionally tipsy Doctor Dokkorin, stern Mayor Maymond, and Lillibit’s industrious parents Rock and Marla, these young fairies learn important lessons about empathy, teamwork, bravery, persistence, pursuing dreams, standing up for what is right, and handling life’s unexpected difficulties.

A spoiled girl named Mia receives a book titled Thumbelina. When she reads it, she is shrunk and pulled into the book's world. She sets off on a journey to return home and to her normal size, making friends and learning lessons along the way—but that is only the beginning of her adventures. The series was edited into an eighty-minute film and released in North America on VHS by Starmaker Entertainment in 1993. In 2006, Digiview Entertainment re-released the Starmaker film on DVD.

Seizo Watase, creator of Chalk-Colored People, produced a series of short manga in Comic Morning starting in 1983. That series has been adapted into a number of romantic vignettes, each meant to convey a straightforward love story in "no more time than it would take to smoke a cigarette"—which often means there is scarcely time to learn the characters' names; many entries simply star "Me" and "Her." Among the tales are Emblem of My Father, Two in the Beer Garden, Old Hawaii Corner, My Brother's Zippo, and Takeru's Love of Two and a Half Millennia. The cigarette comparison may seem odd in today's politically correct climate, but it is preferable to the alternative: bearing in mind that these brief manga stories are actually intended to require no longer to read than the average dump.

Dorothy and her dog Toto live quietly on Uncle Henry and Aunt Em's farm in Kansas. One day, a sudden event sweeps them from the prairie into the enchanted land of Oz. Traveling along the yellow brick road toward Emerald City hoping to find a way back home, Dorothy and Toto befriend several new companions. Upon arriving at the city, they find that the enigmatic ruler of Oz is far from what they imagined. The Wizard can send Dorothy home, but the cost is steep: she and her allies—the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion—must vanquish the Wicked Witch of the West and liberate the Winkies from her tyranny.
