Binchou-tan rises in her rundown wooden shack and sees that her water barrel is nearly empty. She heads to a nearby creek, but finds its water muddy and fast-flowing. She continues onward across green fields toward the settlement, arriving at an old hand pump in the middle of the market square. There she fills her wooden pail. While making her way back home, rain begins to fall, allowing her to fill her bucket to the brim, readying herself for the chores ahead.
