The year 2022 commemorates three decades since the debut of the original Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki OVA series. To mark the occasion, a new Tenchi Muyo! GXP anime series was announced, titled Tenchi Muyo! GXP Paradise Beginnings Arc, which bridges the gap between the fourth and fifth seasons and serves as an introduction to the Paradise War from the perspective of Seina Yamada.

In a universe where countless parallel dimensions coexist, a phenomenon known as the Prism acts as a bridge between our contemporary world and these alternate realities, occasionally allowing energy and matter to cross over. However, this connection also exposes us to perilous creatures referred to as the Eight, who invade from another dimension and launch an attack on humanity. To combat this threat, individuals harness a power called Skuld, which taps into the strength of the future. The government has formed a military unit named Norn, comprising Skuld users, but despite their efforts, the Eight persist in wreaking havoc for many years. Ultimately, a young boy named Asuma is discovered to have the potential to wield an ancient weapon.

In the high school days of Mio Miyamasu and Arata Kishimo, who have been close friends since they were children, Mio harbors unspoken feelings for Arata. Despite this, she lacks the courage to tell him. Her friend Madoka queries Mio about her feelings towards Arata, to which Mio reluctantly admits nothing and instead urges Madoka to express her own feelings for Arata. One day, while visiting a fortune-teller, Arata senses something amiss and attempts to quickly exit the establishment, irritating Mio in the process. This encounter leads Mio to reconsider her connection with Arata, culminating in a heated argument. Later that evening, filled with regret over their quarrel, Mio decides to go out in the rain to apologize and confess her true emotions to Arata. However, an unexpected incident on her journey alters Mio's life dramatically.

Falsely charged with wrongdoing, the fallen aristocrat Charlotte Evans flees and eventually collapses deep in a dense woodland. She is discovered and taken in by Allen Crawford, a mage called the "Demon Lord." Seeing no alternative, Allen feels pity and gives Charlotte a job as his live-in maid. Observing that Charlotte endured scorn and disdain from her noble relatives and never experienced genuine freedom, Allen resolves to instruct her in life's playful pleasures and let her follow her instincts. Even though her innocence makes this difficult, he persists in showing her the joys her family withheld. Normally withdrawn, Allen starts to reveal his true self around Charlotte. Living together, they uncover growing similarities. Despite being forsaken by others, they vow to stand by one another, unaware of the romance blossoming between them.
