Since he was a child, Shun has found peace and happiness in his guitar. Music gives him a sense of purpose, but he still feels something missing in his everyday life. He asks himself, "How can I truly convey myself through my music?" Despite this uncertainty, his company sends him to work in Shanghai—a chance that his girlfriend and coworker Kaori finds exciting. She envisions a stable, happy future together. Just as Shun starts to imagine that life, he meets Kyoko, a former idol who vanished from the public eye because of the heavy demands of that world. Kyoko also struggles with how to genuinely express herself through music.
Meeting Kyoko by chance has a deep effect on Shun, especially when she urges him, "You don't belong here!" This encounter raises new questions about Kyoko's connection to the seasoned guitarist Terada. Will Shun choose a conventional, happy life with Kaori, or will he follow an unpredictable path? Kaori grows worried about where her boyfriend is headed.
As the story progresses, it examines the idea that life isn't just about mutual comfort—it also involves confronting others and speaking something true, even if it hurts. That "something" can sometimes go out of control. When Shun and Kyoko realize they share the same feelings, a fresh possibility emerges for both of them.
