Synopsis
Since childhood, a guitar has been Shun's constant companion. As long as he had a guitar, he was content. A guitarist swept up in the immense vibrations of rock and roll, he is carried along by the music yet always feels a "thirst" in his everyday life. "How can I express myself through music?" Ignoring his inner turmoil, his company announces his transfer to the Shanghai office. His colleague and girlfriend Kaori is thrilled by the opportunity. "An ordinary life wouldn't be bad... building a happy life with her." Just as he starts imagining this new future, Shun meets a mysterious girl named Kyoko. She debuted as an idol in the past but vanished from the entertainment world because she could no longer endure that life. Like Shun, she began questioning how to express herself through music. The two meet by chance. "You shouldn't stay here!" Kyoko's advice deeply moves him. What happened between Kyoko and veteran guitarist Terada? Which path should Shun choose: "an ordinary happy life" or the "unforeseen future"? Kaori worries about her boyfriend, Shun. What will become of them? The story builds toward its climax. People do not live merely to comfort one another. Life is about asserting ourselves to each other and expressing "something" born from confrontation, even if it hurts someone. Even if that "something" looks like a "spiral." When Shun and Kyoko realize they share the same feeling, a new "What if...?" emerges in their minds.
