In "I Don't Want to Play Matchmaker!," Shuryna "Shushu" West is motivated to alter her destiny after having vivid dreams of her past life. As Han Yeahn, she realized she was a minor character in a dark romance novel, where her only function was to be a stepping stone for other characters' affections toward the main heroine, Hestia "Hess" Flauid. To prevent her family's financial collapse and an undesirable arranged marriage, Shushu, now thirteen, enters an academy and chooses the unusual but financially lucrative path of a swordsman. Furthermore, Shushu uses the alias "Schneeballen" to work as a cunning mage on the side. Her varied pursuits often bring her into contact with multiple male leads, who constantly ask for her help as a matchmaker. Yet Shushu firmly declines this role and concentrates on pursuing her own objectives and happiness.
