Hina Tsurugi has just moved with her family to a small seaside town. While hoping to take in the peaceful view of the ocean, she meets Yuuki Kuroiwa—an older student at her new school—who asks Hina to go fishing with her. Hina hooks an octopus that lands on her; scared of bugs and large animals, she panics and pleads with Yuuki to get it off. Yuuki takes this chance to strong-arm Hina into joining the school's Breakwater Club, a group whose main activity is gathering, catching, and eating different kinds of marine life. Though her attempts to avoid joining fail, Hina slowly starts to uncover the hidden appeal of fishing. Her attitude toward the activity changes, and she starts looking forward to all the enjoyable moments she can have together with her fellow club members.
