Rozen Maiden
Rozen Maiden
The master dollmaker Rozen created many unique dolls during his lifetime, but what made them extraordinary was not the materials he used. These dolls, called Rozen Maidens, were each given a Rosa Mystica—a precious gem that grants them life. However, they have a specific mission: they must battle one another in a competition known as the Alice Game. The victor becomes Alice, the perfect girl who will be allowed to meet their father and creator. Jun Sakurada, a middle school student who has shut himself away from the world, gets a firsthand encounter with the Alice Game when one of these dolls appears at his home. After he winds her up using the provided spring, she awakens and introduces herself as Shinku, the fifth Rozen Maiden. Even though Jun quickly grows irritated by her arrogant demeanor, the two end up cooperating when another doll attacks them. At Shinku’s request, Jun becomes her medium, enabling her to use his life force as a source of power to defeat their foes. Following that battle, more Rozen Maidens show up and choose to live in Jun’s house. But can there be any tranquility when their very nature compels them to fight each other?
