In ages past, the masterful swordsmith Shikizaki Kiki forged one thousand blades, but his twelve final creations—the legendary deviant blades—stood above the rest. Each possessed unique traits, making them among the greatest swords in Japan. Fast forward many decades to a remote island, where Yasuri Shichika lives with his older sister Nanami. Togame, a white-haired woman gifted in strategy, enlists Shichika's help to gather all twelve blades. They must battle the wielders of these swords in fierce combat, all while gaining insight into themselves, their true objectives, and their deepest desires. Shichika has yet to discover what he truly inherits as a Kyoutoryuu sword.
