Zero no Tsukaima
ゼロの使い魔
The continent of Halkeginia is in constant turmoil—kingdoms, princedoms, duchies, and lordships all vie with one another to expand their territories. Nobles scheme and conspire to gain influence over their lieges or even foreign rulers. At the heart of Halkeginia lies the small yet vital kingdom of Tristein. Its most notable feature is the Tristein Academy of Magic, where nobles from across the world come to study magic and become magi. Though friendships may form across national borders within the academy, the question remains whether those bonds can survive the politics and power games of the outside world once the students leave. Louise is a student at Tristein Magical Academy, infamous for her utter failure at casting spells. One day, a ceremony is held in which each student must summon a being or entity to become their familiar. Louise’s familiar manifests as a boy named Hiraga Saito. Somehow, he was transported from his own world into hers, and shortly thereafter became her familiar.

Background
Due to the author Noboru Yamaguchi's illness, Zero no Tsukaima was discontinued in 2011, only publishing 20 volumes out of the 22 planned. In 2015, the official site announced that it would resume publication until the series' completion. Yamaguchi died in 2013 at the age of 41, after more than two years of fighting cancer. The remaining plot and ending of the series were assigned to the series' editors by Yamaguchi on his sickbed. The series has been licensed in Brazilian Portuguese by NewPOP Editora.
