Flower and Asura Manga Locks Ultra Jump Finale for August 19

Shueisha’s Ultra Jump has put a hard date on the final page: writer Ayano Takeda and artist Musshu will wrap Flower and Asura (Hana wa Saku, Shura no Gotoku) in the magazine’s September 2026 issue, on sale August 19. The announcement landed in the current August issue, giving readers roughly a month to brace for the island’s last broadcast.

Since June 2021 the series has followed Hana Haruyama, a recital-obsessed high schooler on tiny Tonakishima who reads to the island’s kids until broadcasting club president Mizuki Usurai hauls her into club life, competitions, and a pile of firsts. Ten tankōbon volumes are already out—the tenth shipped March 18—so the finish line arrives with a substantial shelf already stocked.

Takeda is best known as the novelist behind Sound! Euphonium, and that same feel for earnest high-school craft carried into this collaboration with Musshu. Studio Bind’s 12-episode TV anime (winter 2025) introduced Hana’s voice-first world to a wider audience on HIDIVE, turning a quiet seinen slice-of-life into a known quantity just as the manga prepares to take its bow.

One more Ultra Jump chapter stands between the club and the credits. For fans who stayed with every reading session, August 19 is the day the flower’s final bloom hits print.
