True Saint Exile Fantasy LN Unveils 2027 Anime Cast, Staff & Teaser

Fantasy fans got a long-awaited green light this week: Because I, the True Saint, Was Banished, That Country Is Done For! is headed for television. An official website went live on Thursday confirming a 2027 premiere, along with a teaser visual that puts the series’ luminous heroine front and center.

Masumi Tazawa will voice Eliane, the true saint cast out by her own kingdom, while Taku Yashiro steps in as Nigel, the neighboring prince who becomes her unexpected ally. Behind the camera, Tsukasa Sakurai directs at Tsumugi Akita Animation Lab, with series composition by Naoki Tozuka and character designs by Naru Nishikori.

Author Shikiso Utsuzawa first serialized the reboot fantasy on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2020 before Kodansha brought it to print under K Ranobe Books with illustrations by Pukyunosuke. The franchise has already moved more than 1.5 million copies, and Mokuba Matsu’s manga adaptation continues on Palcy—volume 13 arrives later this month.

Expect a revenge-adjacent comfort fantasy rather than pure gloom: Eliane’s exile becomes the catalyst for a happier second act, complete with real power, better company, and a kingdom that may live to regret discarding its saint.
