JUVENAGE Locks Studio Cabana Music Romance for 2027 With Ushijima at Helm

Kadokawa has locked animation production at JUVENAGE for a 2027 television anime of Agri Uma’s music-steeped shoujo manga Studio Cabana, with a new teaser visual and full lead-staff lineup now live on the official site. The booking is another high-profile slate entry for the relatively young studio, which is stacking character-driven originals and adaptations as it expands beyond production support work.

In the series, straight-laced high schooler Yukari Maki is stuck as messenger to feared classmate Yusuke Kusaka—until she follows him into a after-school music studio and hears the supposed delinquent belt out a love song as vocalist of the band the oops. That secret stage is where the manga’s bittersweet unrequited-crush story blooms, and where JUVENAGE will have to sell both quiet classroom tension and raw performance energy.

Shinichiro Ushijima (I Want to Eat Your Pancreas, UniteUp!) directs, with Sawako Hirabayashi handling series composition and Haruka Sagawa (Call of the Night, Re:ZERO) designing the cast. Sayumi Suzushiro returns as Yukari Maki, the role she first voiced in a 2022 promo short for the manga; Yusuke’s actor is still under wraps, though character art for him has already dropped.
