Set in the proud northern land of Hokkaido in 2010, Rou Shirakawa achieves the highest score ever recorded at the All-Japan Junior Figure Skating Championships. However, he suddenly loses control and begins demolishing the stage, resulting in immediate disqualification and a lifetime ban from the figure skating world. Now known as "the Rabid Prince," Rou arrives in Tamakomai, a town in northern Japan dedicated to ice hockey. On a frozen lake rink, he encounters the fierce Genma brothers. Rou soon discovers the renowned Oino-kami high school and its mission to claim an unprecedented twentieth consecutive national ice hockey championship.
