Background

Blue Period was nominated for the 43rd Kodansha Manga Award in the General category in 2019. In the following year, the manga won the 13th Manga Taisho Award as well as the 44th Kodansha Manga Award in the General category. The series has been published in English by Kodansha Comics USA since October 6, 2020. It has also been simulpub through K Manga. The manga has also been released in Spanish by Milky Way Ediciones since October 25, 2019; and in Polish by Waneko since September 6, 2021. The manga was adapted into a Japanese live-action film that premiered on August 9, 2024.
