In the anime Fate/EXTRA, Hakuno Kishinami is a high school student tormented by fragmented memories and severe headaches. One day, he observes an unusual scene through his classroom window: two girls locked in a fierce battle in the courtyard, their clash shattering the glass without disturbing the other students. Suddenly, an armored knight bursts into the room, slaughtering the students with his lance, forcing Hakuno to flee. After narrowly escaping the bloodthirsty knight, Hakuno finds himself suffering from total amnesia, with only the phrase "Holy Grail War" remaining in his mind. Lost within the abandoned school, he ends up in a desperate situation, bleeding and surrounded by corpses. Just as two men are about to kill him, a woman in striking red appears, calling out to him and reviving him. She declares him her Master and fights off the attackers, sealing a contract that will guide Hakuno through the trials ahead.
