Tamamori moved to Tokyo with the goal of entering the Imperial University, but he failed the entrance exam. Lacking discipline and lost in endless daydreams, he got thrown out of his boarding house after just two years. By chance, he ended up living and working at Umebachidou, a secondhand bookstore, where he passes the time as a "student preparing for entrance exams" and takes advantage of friends who came from his hometown as well. When those friends begin dying one after another under mysterious circumstances, Tamamori realizes that he has been trapped in a loop repeating the same rainy three days—and he must race through Jinbochou to save them.
