In the bustling heart of Shinjuku, numerous host and hostess clubs cater to customers seeking a night of luxury with an attractive companion. Yamada is one such hostess, juggling her university studies with work, though she finds herself more drawn to becoming a top-tier hostess than an outstanding student. The irresistible pay lures many girls into the industry, where they come and go. But in 2012, she encounters someone entirely different. Mii-chan is a petite young woman who seems hopeless at nearly everything—she can barely read or write, and her clumsiness earns her mockery from both staff and customers. Yet her radiant energy and relentless drive are impossible to overlook, and Yamada finds herself captivated by Mii-chan's charm.
