Akira Nikaidou is an ordinary high school student whose routine is disrupted when a strange man named Shirogane tells him to go to the school after dark. Though doubtful, Akira follows the instruction and finds himself facing a dark creature. Shirogane explains that the equilibrium between the human realm and the shadow realm has been broken, and Akira must transform into a shin, a being from the shadow dimension, to bring back balance.
