Kippei Katakura is a high school playboy who chases after any girl he wants, though he holds real feelings for Kokoro Tokunaga. Out of nowhere, his family puts him in charge of his five-year-old cousin, Yuzuru Sakashita, after her mother abandoned her. Kippei has to take care of Yuzuru until her mom comes back, and Yuzuru quickly grows very attached to him. Through Yuzuru's influence and the relationship they build, Kippei learns what it means to look after a child and form meaningful bonds. Splitting his attention between Kokoro and Yuzuru, the three of them grow together, deepening their understanding of each other, their emotions, and what family truly means.
