Shadows House

In Shadows House, Emilico is one of many Living Dolls whose duty is to keep the mansion spotless, even though its inhabitants—the Shadows—are completely black and constantly emit soot that dirties everything. Each Shadow has a corresponding Doll who looks just like them. Emilico cleans the house and acts as the public face for her master, Kate, while receiving her support and companionship in return. Emilico and Kate have lived this way for as long as they can remember, but the true nature of the bond between Shadows and Dolls remains unknown. From the upper floors, the mansion’s administrators observe the young pairs and evaluate them for reasons that are still unclear.
