One year ago, Aika Fuwa and her parents died under mysterious circumstances. Her older brother, Mahiro, sets out to find the truth and avenge her death. Unaware to Mahiro, his childhood friend and Aika’s secret boyfriend, Yoshino Takigawa, gets drawn into the mystery when a strange woman confronts him at gunpoint. Yoshino learns that the government suspects Mahiro of being connected to a strange condition called "iron sickness" in areas where he was last seen. As Mahiro and Yoshino become fugitives, their search for Aika’s killers becomes more dangerous and urgent. To find out more about his sister’s murder, Mahiro makes a deal with Hakaze Kusaribe, the most powerful sorceress in the world, who is trapped on a remote island. As the princess and leader of the Kusaribe Clan, Hakaze agrees to help Mahiro’s investigation if he frees her from her exile. Once freed, Hakaze plans to stop the "Tree of Exodus" from being awakened again to prevent a global disaster. Her former assistant, Samon Kusaribe, had her exiled and stripped of her magical powers on the island to stop her from interfering with his plans to bring back the tree. As Mahiro and Yoshino race against time to save the world from the effects of the "Trees of Exodus and Genesis," they get closer to uncovering the deeper secrets behind Aika’s death, realizing that the murder may be closely connected to the chaos happening around them.
