In "Boys Over Flowers," Tsukushi Makino, a girl from an ordinary family, ends up attending Eitoku Academy, an elite school mostly for children of wealthy families. She stands out as an outsider among the privileged students, especially the infamous "Flower" Four (F4). The F4 is led by Tsukasa Domyoji, whose family is one of the richest and most powerful in Japan. Tsukasa takes an interest in Tsukushi because she is the only one not charmed by him. However, his hot-tempered personality and habit of bullying others initially push Tsukushi away, as she has feelings for someone else. One-shot included: Volume 1 - End of the Century.

Background

Hana yori Dango won the 41st Shogakukan Manga Award for best shoujo manga in 1995. The series was published in English as Boys Over Flowers by VIZ Media from August 6, 2003 to June 9, 2009. It was also published in Spanish by Planeta Cómic as No me lo digas con flores from 2004 to 2010. The same publisher is releasing the kanzenban edition on September 17, 2017.
