Yasuto Akashi, a high school student, starts his day as usual but ends up skipping school after a disagreement with his best friend, Senichi Aoyama. Feeling regretful, he tries to go back, only to find the school has been cut off from the outside world. Suddenly, a giant cat's head smashes through the windows, and Akashi sees Aoyama in a bloody rat costume. On that day, only three students survive the chaos at the school, as similar events happen worldwide. Though he escapes at first, Akashi becomes caught in a deadly game involving everyone who skipped school that day.
