Aida Torajirou, a city dweller, collapses from heat stroke on a rural roadside. He is rescued by the son of a local hair salon owner. Aside from being from Tokyo, almost nothing is known about the young man's background. The son urges his father not to call the police on the stranger; instead, the salon owner becomes interested in Tora-san and offers him a job.
