One sweltering summer afternoon, right after classes ended. Aki—a boy who had long been the target of bullying—makes up his mind to confess his feelings to Yui, his childhood friend. However, on the way home, Yui suddenly disappears without a trace. The two had definitely been walking side by side. Overwhelmed by despair at losing Yui, his only confidant and the one he loved, Aki is consumed by grief. Then, Yui appears before him once more. “I became a shadow.” Her figure was bizarre. She stretched her limbs out from within the darkness, moving as though she were swimming. Any place that held a shadow became a passage she could slip in and out of freely—the ground, the ceiling, even a human body... Was she still the real Yui, or something entirely different? Aki desperately tries to bring Yui back. Yet, against his hopes, the nightmare of the “shadow” begins to engulf them both.
