To the casual observer, Shalnark appears as an innocent and ordinary young boy. However, this impression vanishes when witnessing him in action alongside the other members of the Genei Ryodan. He is one of the group’s most intelligent and quick-thinking individuals, serving as the brains behind the brawn through his adeptness with computers and information gathering. As a Hunter, he possesses the ability to access specific data that could prove potentially useful to the Genei Ryodan, and he holds the member number 9. During the Dark Continent Expedition arc, Chrollo employs his Black Voice ability while fighting Hisoka, suggesting that Shalnark lent him this power.
