Flegel

Summary

Flegel was a high-ranking noble and the nephew of Duke Otto von Braunschweig. In the year 486 of the Imperial Calendar, he played a role in the imprisonment of then-Rear Admiral Wolfgang Mittermeyer. He bribed an interrogator to torture Mittermeyer, and when that failed, he attempted to beat the admiral himself. After Mittermeyer insulted his pride by calling him a coward for attacking a bound man, Flegel had the handcuffs removed to fight fairly. However, he was swiftly defeated by Mittermeyer and ordered his companions to shoot his opponent. This plan was thwarted by the direct intervention of Admiral Reinhard von Müsel, acting on the request of Rear Admiral Oskar von Reuenthal.
