Summary
Sayoko possesses a rather dark disposition and lacks a sense of responsibility. In the original manga, she was portrayed as suicidal, but this trait was omitted during the adaptation to the anime. Despite the removal of this element, her irresponsibility remains a constant in both versions of the series. Nevertheless, she harbors a deep desire to make Asami happy and hopes to spend a long life together with her. The pair resides in a room cluttered with cardboard boxes that serve as their furniture and bedding, reflecting their extreme poverty. Although her father is a wealthy sculptor, Sayoko became estranged from him during her youth. Her favorite food is Mizuyōkan. Even though she appears useless throughout the narrative, she genuinely cares for Asami. While her age is never disclosed in the manga, her birthday is October 17.
