Summary
Honest is a massive man with a demonic visage, characterized by a crown of horns that appear to be growing directly out of his head. Operating as the true power behind the throne, he manipulates Emperor Makoto to run the Empire from the shadows. As the primary antagonist of the series, he harbors a deep hatred for Night Raid and the Revolutionary Army. Often depicted in the act of eating, he is utterly indifferent to everything except the maintenance of his own absolute power. It is revealed that Emperor Makoto secured victory in the succession battle solely due to Honest’s influence and strategic planning. Honest succeeded Chouri as Prime Minister, a predecessor who was a kindhearted yet resolute man. Chouri served as a strong adviser to the former emperor and sought to return to the capital to halt the Empire’s decline. Upon learning of Chouri’s intentions, Honest ordered Esdeath’s forces, known as the "Three Beasts," to assassinate him. Honest is also the father of Syura, the current leader of the secret police Wild Hunt, and has a blood relative named Iwokaru, who was killed by Night Raid.
